Types of Passive Income

February 2nd, 2011

Obtaining passive income is a smart move these days, especially since the holidays are just over and you probably have spent so much to prepare for Christmas and New Year. The great news is that you don’t really have to give up your full time job or become too problematic with the way you will be spending half your time with a passive income and half with your actual job. There are plenty of passive income sources that you can choose from. Among them is the well-known residual income. In here, your revenue comes from over a period of time’s worth of work. The usual example of this is the yearly commission agents get from hitting their revenues.

Another type of income is known to be leveraged financial freedom income. In here, you typically partner with other professionals and allow their products to be the source of your income. An example would be affiliate marketing. When you get into this, you typically promote a product and thus become an affiliate. You earn from the streams of income that is being created by the way you market the products or services you are an affiliate of. In here, you get personal development commission from every sell that you do.

Meanwhile, there is also the active leveraged income wherein you outright take on an additional job on top of your current one. This can be done in your free time or on weekends, depending on your availability. Some people also refer to this as moonlighting, wherein you earn additional income while working two or even more jobs a day. This kind of income-generating job would require you to directly participate in the sales. You no longer earn from commission basis but earn the full amount of what you have worked for. Doing freelance is also an example of this.
