Just Got Back From Up And Getting A Classic Mustang

I really haven’t much had time to talk on my site nearly as much as I might like, on account of all the time I have been roped into helping my old man with his wet & wild midlife crisis. Okay, I suppose it isn’t as far gone as it might be. How it went, I mean the way he played it out was to go and dress himself up like the Fonz, and storm over to my apartment and tell me, in his hippest possible vocal tone: “Put some shades on, bro, we are going cruising for some classic Mustang sales. You better believe it, dude, I’m all set to buy an old school muscle car.”

Next thing I know the two of us were hopping around to a few of those creepy classic car showrooms that most people are just about sure the mob owns and operates, and I see the old man cut a check without even stopping to think, for an unnaturally sparkly classic Ford Mustang. I have to admit, it’s an intense piece of machinery. It sounded amazing as well.

You’ll notice I wrote that last sentence in the past tense. It had a great sound for a short time, at which point it rendered itself silent. The old man tells me that it’s a pretty quick problem and that all it will take is the right part. I’m thinking, it may not be as painless to come across classic Ford Mustang parts as it was like 30 years ago, but the old man informs me there is a really big availability for them still. Apparently the best place to find parts for 1967 Mustangs is by way of internet auctions, since you can find them rebuilt and sometimes even brand new. They might not be a steal, though… After all, they are half-century old classic car parts.

Not the worst midlife crisis ever, I guess. Imagine if he would’ve bought himself a mail-order bride.
